An experienced Linux Engineer is required for a global financial service organisation who offer advanced trading solutions for asset management firms, insurance companies, hedge funds and more, helping these institutions lower overall trading costs and improve their investment performance. The company are pioneers in electronic trading, also specialising in low latency, high touch, and multi-asset trading and more. You will play a crucial part in a thriving business, who are eager to continue their success, supporting a fast-pace, dynamic, trading organisation.
All applicants should come from a strong financial service industry background.
The successful candidate will have a range of technical knowledge and be able to add value around Scripting, low balancing network infrastructure and an expert around installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. The successful candidate will easily demonstrate their Enterprise Linux experience with expertise across Red Hat, Oracle, CentOS.

The role:
- Full life cycle management of Unix systems
- Coordinate department activities using Jira and ServiceNow
- Configuration management and uniform deployment
- Proactively monitor the Unix estate and suggest opportunities to improve the process, technologies, and overall stability.
- Auditing and implementing remediation actions, ensuring they comply with IT Governance policies and procedures.
Skills and requirements:
- Proficient working experience/knowledge of Linux operating systems including configurations, installation, and troubleshooting.
- Previous experience managing F5 load balancers.
- Previous experience of diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
- TCP/IP, DNS, LDAP, SNMP
- LAN/WAN (desirable)
- Enterprise Linux experience - Oracle, CentOS, Red Hat
- Scripting/Programming experience (within Ansible, Python, Java, Perl.)
- IaC - Infrastructure as code.
- DHCP, PXE, Satellite, SpaceWalk.
