OVERVIEW

Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden (WBSL) is a purpose built, state-of-the-art film and television studio offering one of the largest facilities in the UK. This 200 acre secure site has a quarter of a million square feet of stage space, back-lot tank, one of the largest heated underwater filming tanks in Europe and a 100 acre back-lot.

WBSL has a collection of nineteen sound stages, some of which are the largest in the UK. The site also has its own, on-site Set Lighting & Rigging division, which provides the industry with state-of-the-art lighting equipment, scaffolding and production supplies for stage and location shoots. WB De Lane Lea based in Soho, London, provides state of the art facilities in post-production for feature films and television.

These facilities make Warner Bros. Entertainment the only Hollywood studio to own and operate a production and post-production facility in the U.K.

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter showcases the authentic sets, special effects, and behind-the-scenes secrets of the Harry Potter film series. Located at the Studios where all eight films were produced.

In addition to the Tour retail, WBSL also includes Platform 9¾ shops at Kings Cross and Heathrow as well as Cursed Child merchandising. The UK-based retail finance team also supports the Harry Potter Flagship store in New York, as well as E-commerce operations based in the UK and US.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The position works at Leavesden reporting to the Retail Finance Manager within the WBSL Finance team. The primary purpose of this role is to provide business decision support to Retail management, analyze variances in actual results to plan and assist in the preparation of budget and forecast schedules for the department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Provide strategic business support for respective BU and prepare any ad hoc analysis as required.
* Support US and UK Retail stores and Warehouse stock reporting and valuation.
* Support the preparation of the annual budget schedules and quarterly forecast schedules for all respective profit centers, working closely with central FP&A team and budget holders.
* Work closely with management to draft and prepare any analysis schedules required either regularly or on an ad hoc basis.
* Work closely with the retail store team to support on reporting and ad hoc analysis required to support the stores.
* Support in the transition of tasks to offshore COE teams.
* Ad hoc support and cover for the wider Leavesden Retail Finance team as required.
* Prepare and review Royalty and Commission calculations.
* Work closely with Technology Solutions team to fully understand retail systems' interface with SAP financial reporting system, identifying and following up to ensure all issues are resolved on a timely basis.
* Support annual statutory audit process.
* Ensure audit reconciliations and controls are performed as required and work closely with Head Office finance team to provide back up and evidence for controls testing.
* Work with Tax team to support tax reporting for US retail stores.
* Review of daily retail system sales audit queries ensuring day ends are performed on a timely basis.
* Prepare month end journals and ensure the Flagship store profit and loss accounts for all profit centers are complete and accurate.
* Review the month end profit and loss accounts to ensure it is complete and accurate.
* Prepare month end analysis and schedules as required for Head Office and Corporate eg, Variance analysis and KPI reports.
* Support COE in the preparation and review of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations as required (Inventory recs, cash clearing, LOB recs etc.)
* Regular review of cash over shorts with the store managers
* Perform ad hoc operational duties as requested by management.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

* Previous analysis experience
* Previous experience of preparing budgets and forecasts
* Good working knowledge of SAP
* Knowledge of APTOS and MSD would be an advantage
* Detail oriented to produce accurate reliable and high-quality work in a timely manner

* Strong understanding of IT systems and their interface with financial reporting systems

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

* Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with good PQE
* Educated to degree level, upper second or above.
